Dr. Sharif M Khalid

Dr. Sharif M Khalid is the Economic Advisor, Office of the Vice President, Ghana. Previously, he held academic positions at the University of Sheffield and Queen’s University Belfast, where he was involved in teaching, research, and PhD supervision.
With a nearly two-decade-long academic career, his research engagements span accounting and finance, corporate governance, international tax policy, extractive sector governance, corporate and commercial law, international trade, political accountability, and sustainable development. He has contributed significantly to research, consultancy, public engagement, and impact, with projects spanning countries such as South Africa, Angola, Mali, and others, demonstrating his global perspective and practical expertise. He holds academic qualifications in Law, Population Studies, and Energy Management. He also earned an MBA, MSc and PhD from the Universities of Sheffield, Oxford, and the Henley Business School, respectively. Sharif is also a member of St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford.
