ACCESSIBLE & QUALITY HEALTHCARE
The people of Northern Savannah Ecological Zone (NSEZ) have significant limitation in accessing health care, including shortage of healthcare workforce and sparsely scattered health facilities. NAI Lab hopes to use AI to improve patient care, and increase access to quality healthcare services.
AGRICULTURE & FOOD SECURITY
More than 70% of the population of Northern Ghana depends on uni-modal rain-fed agriculture for their food, income and livelihoods. However, limited access to advanced technological tools has stalled its growth potential. NAI aims to provide access to region-specific and gender-friendly AI-powered tools that can improve productivity, optimize resources and maximize crop yields.
ACCESSIBLE AND QUALITY EDUCATION
NSEZ students have limited access to education and poor academic performance – 30% of children have no schools close to their communities, they have any 35% of trained teachers and only 16% of girls achieve the pass rate for Mathematics. NAI intends to use AI to responsibly increase access to education and improve learning.
JOB CREATION & SKILLING
4 out of every 10 youth in NSEZ is unemployed, with only about 4% of the youth who have undergone formal skills training, contributing to poor living standards and increase migration among youth and women. NAI aims to leverage AI to equip youth and women with advanced job skills and drive job creation opportunities.
